This double hook is produced from one piece of wire doubled back in the shank of the hook where it is brazed together. The wire diameter and shape of this hook connotes a "low water" style of salmon hook. As a fishing tool, double hooks have twice the weight of a similar sized single hook and the two hooks bends at 90 degrees from each other are said to be effective "keels" for some flies, keeping them upright.

The past couple of years have brought some major changes to the Mustad brand as a number of their most popular fly hooks have been phased out and replaced with their new Signature Series alternatives. Mustad Signature hooks incorporate new advancements in sharpening and tempering methods and feature a noticeably smaller barb. Their newly developed technical specifications provide proportionally accurate bends, gaps, and shank lengths across each hook category.
We have a good number of standard Mustad hooks remaining in stock, but only in the sizes and styles indicated below. We also have a limited range of the premium Mustad Accupoint hooks which were discontinued a few years ago. Accupoints are mechanically cut, ground, chemically sharpened and polished to ensure quick, effortless penetration. |
