Rio Short Head Spey Line

The InTouch Short Head Spey line from RIO is a very easy casting, traditional style Spey line with a short head that is ideal for Spey casters moving up from easier casting Scandi and Skagit heads. The head length varies between 40 ft and 50 ft, depending on line size, and it is a great choice of traditional Spey line for anglers using shorter rods and when fishing in tight quarters. The line has an integrated running line built in, and is an interchangeable tip style line - meaning the front 15ft floating tip is attached to the line with a loop-to-loop connection, allowing anglers to switch tips according to water conditions and guide recommendations. RIO recommends the 15ft InTouch replacement tips as the best options for this. The line is built with RIO's ultra-low stretch ConnectCore for the very best in efficiency and load.

Rio Elite Scandi Launch<br>Shooting Head

Rio Elite Scandi Launch
Shooting Head

The Scandi Launch is an all new series of high performance shooting heads designed to maximize the fun of fishing small flies on floating lines. Each size has been meticulously tuned for two criteria. First, a unique series of steps in the taper concentrates weight at the back of the head, putting more weight in the D loop and making it easy to load the rod. Second, the front taper and tip diameters of each head have been selected to turn over delicately for the most graceful presentations. Whether fishing a tapered nylon leader or a slightly heavier VersiLeader, the Scandi Launch delivers flies quietly and efficiently. Fishing "fine and far off" has been the aspiration of two-handed anglers for decades and the Scandi Launch makes it more fun than ever. A shooting line is required to make this head fishable.

Rio Scandi Short Shooting Head

RIO's Scandi Short head is a very easy casting Scandi style shooting head, built on RIO's ultra-low stretch ConnectCore for the utmost in casting control and sensitivity. The "Short" nature of this head makes it ideal for Spey rods and Switch rods less than 12' 6" in length, and also for fishing in the tightest of situations.

"Scandi" style heads feature long, fine front tapers that unroll with ease, remain stable and smooth throughout the casting stroke and are very easy, and pleasant to cast.

Scandi heads are the best line option in tight casting situations and a particularly good choice on smaller rivers, and for novice to average casting skills - particularly when smaller and unweighted flies are used.

Rio Windcutter II Spey Fly Line

The line features RIO's XS Technology™ for an extraordinarily slick, dirt-repelling coating. It has an easy loading head between 45 ft (13.7 m) – 56 ft (17.1 m) (depending on the size) and is the most versatile of all spey lines. The WindCutter II is available in two formats: 1) a full floating line with a welded loop at the front end for attaching RIO's VersiLeaders to, or 2) a VersiTip line with a body and a selection of 15 ft (4,6 m) tips. These tips are: floating, clear intermediate (1.5 ips, 4 cm/s), DC Type 3 (3 ips, 8 cm/s), DC Type 6 (6 ips, 15 cm/s) and DC Type 8 (8 ips, 20 cm/s) sinking tip and each tip features RIO's thin, non-hinging welded loops. The WWF 5/6 does not include a Type 8 tip. The 4/5 is only available as a floating line. RIO has improved the VersiTip version for 2009 by removing the middle floating tip (Tip 2) that has been a standard in the past.
